This small update for the Google Play Store was hinted at a while ago and now Google seems to be really delivering it to our devices. What is meant is a further upgrade of the “Material You” design language, which Google had not yet fully integrated into the Play Store.
The further adjustments to the modern Android design became apparent a few months ago and are now appearing on more people’s Android smartphones. What you may not notice at all, is that there are only a few small adjustments in the area of the numerous buttons in the Play Store.
Buttons in the Google Play Store: finally a round thing
As the screenshots from the Telegram channel “Google News” show, Google is finally redesigning the buttons in the Play Store to a rounder design. It’s a very small change, but I think it’s necessary. It definitely looks a bit more coherent than before and fits better with the other long-adapted Google apps.
Google finally has to work on better coordinating its apps
I still can’t see the newer look of the keys. But that’s probably only a matter of time. This means that the app for Android and the web version of the Google Play Store now fit together better again. In the web version, not all buttons really show the new design. Google shows here again with little consistency. Competitors sometimes do a better job of this when it comes to the uniform design of their own software.
About a month ago, Google rolled out the new design for the Google Play Store on the web. As is well known, we even had to wait several years for this. Recently, however, the focus has been more on removing more content that Google has now outsourced to other apps such as YouTube Music and Google TV.
