In response to the improvement of some Xbox and PC games, Microsoft is working hard to make the Edge browser a good helper for gamers. In addition to the new gaming-centric homepage and integrated casual gaming, Edge also gets a Clarity Boost mode that improves Xbox cloud gaming and an efficiency mode to prevent Edge from hogging PC resources while gaming.
Enabling efficiency mode in the Edge browser not only maximizes the performance of Windows 10/11 devices but also minimizes browser resource usage during gaming. Liat Ben-Zur, corporate vice president of Microsoft Consumer Services and Software Products, explained: “With this feature, you don’t have to close the browser to play and reopen it when you’re done. When you close the game, Microsoft Edge will exit productivity mode, and Takes you back to where you left off”.
Microsoft has also added a Clarity Boost feature to Xbox cloud gaming. This is a space upgrade feature designed to make Xbox streaming games even sharper and sharper. Microsoft has been testing this feature for the past six months, and the improvement is evident thanks to a series of client-side scaling improvements that will improve the visual quality of Xbox cloud gaming.
Microsoft has also created a gaming homepage for Edge that includes gaming news, live streams, Xbox content, and quick access to Xbox Cloud Gaming. There’s even a new games menu within Edge that includes free casual and arcade games like Microsoft Solitaire.
