Apparently, someone still has a prototype Google Pixel 7 Pro and can take a look at its source code. The device is disabled (bricked) by Google, but the person can still get some info from the boot software. We take that with a grain of salt but don’t have too many doubts because the little new information sounds plausible.
Display without major changes?
For example, there is information that the Pixel 7 Pro uses a display that is largely comparable to the Pixel 6 Pro display. The codename Samsung S6E3HC4 differs from S6E3HC3 in only one number. This should mean that no huge jump is to be expected here.
Other sources claimed that this previously surfaced display is not used. At least in the prototypes that have emerged, this seems to be the case. Maybe just as a placeholder for a new display?
Google Tensor 2: Processor cores partially known
We still wonder what Google is doing differently with the second generation of the Tensor. It’s not the cluster of CPU cores. There are two high-end cores, two for the medium performance and two for the smaller processes. The basis is probably again Cortex-A55 cores.
Doesn’t seem like there’s a huge upgrade here as far as Google Tensor performance goes. So I wouldn’t get my hopes up that much. Rather, I think there’s progress in what else Google is putting on the SoC.
Code names of other devices are confirmed
As the user also says, he discovered some codenames. Including “Felix”, which probably stands for the upcoming Google Pixel 7a (2023). “Lynx” had appeared before, but this time it was not found in the source code.
