Valve has filed a new patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office showing abstracts and blueprints for a rumored new VR headset similar to the Meta Quest and Quest 2.
The patent was filed in December 2021 and published on June 16, 2022. The 53-page document includes a summary describing images of the headset’s physical product and component assemblies. The product isn’t named, but it’s titled “Head Mounted Display.”
The summary describes the product as “with a display housing on the front and a rear housing on the back”. The foremost member extends between the front and the rear and is adjusted by the foremost rotatable actuator and the foremost wiring mechanism.
As with most patents, the patent abstract is more of a printed blueprint than a description of the product itself, but the images may give a hint at what Valve’s new VR headset will look like.
