According to Spoken Reviews, Tesla now provides a service called Acceleration Boost for Model Y models equipped with 4680 batteries. After the upgrade, the model’s 0 to 60 mph time is 0.8 seconds faster than before.
There are two main differences between the Model Y produced at Tesla’s Texas factory and the model produced at the Fremont factory; the former uses a new 4680 battery and has a 0-60 mph time of 5 seconds; the Fremont version is 4.8 seconds.
However, Tesla now offers an acceleration upgrade package for the 4680-battery Model Y Tesla in the Tesla app. This upgrade package costs $2,000 to unlock and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Although the actual time may not be 4.2 seconds.
Last year, Tesla provided an acceleration boost package for the Model Y long-range version. The 0 to 60 mph acceleration time for the model has increased from 5 seconds to 4.4 seconds, compared with the 4680 battery version of the Model Y, which has improved from 5 seconds to 4.2 seconds, a bigger upgrade.
