Since the launch of the Epic game store four years ago, many players have complained about the official delay in introducing the comment function. However, it has recently been reported that the Epic Game Store will soon usher in a community evaluation system. Unlike competing platforms, Epic has also experimented with introducing new voting mechanisms.
It is reported that the rating and review function can help potential customers to understand the use feedback of the product, so as to avoid lightning before spending money. The new system of the Epic game store can also be tied with the player evaluation supported by OpenCritic.
Unfortunately, not every player can rate the game across five stars at this stage – you have to play for at least 2 hours before you have a chance to be randomly selected. As for the commenting feature, Epic is apparently in no rush to add it.
The Epic Games Store will not display the rating on the product homepage until enough data has been aggregated. Officials see this as a stopgap measure to avoid comment bombardment while ensuring the authenticity of the score.
In addition, since the scoring request is released randomly, players will not be bombarded by the platform’s spam. After all, not everyone will deeply experience every game or application in their collection (it’s common to buy and eat ashes).
As for the content of player surveys, Epic also gave a few examples. Such as “is this game suitable for group play” (answer “yes” or “no”), and ask “how difficult the boss in the game is to challenge” and many other voting options.
Finally, in addition to the game store, Epic Games announced an update to its online services platform on Friday to improve cross-game integration support for game developers.
