Many users of Pixel smartphones can look forward to extensive updates every three months in the form of the Pixel Feature Drop, which always has new features and improved functions in its luggage. Today, on the occasion of the latest update, we’re looking back and bringing you a video recap of all the improvements and updates that have been made over the past 27 months. There were a lot of big innovations.
The monthly Android security update, which has been released for many years, also included a Pixel Feature Drop for the first time in December 2019 , which has since been rolled out four times a year to many Pixel smartphones with just one exception. This is a package of innovations, most of which remain Pixel-exclusive for a long time or are brought to the older Pixel smartphones by the new generations.
We’ve already shown you the 100+ pixel feature drop updates, and because a picture is worth a thousand words, we’re back today in video form. Since the second Pixel Feature Drop, which was released in March 2020, there has been a kind of promo video that shows all the innovations and explains them very briefly and concisely. This is always worth seeing and shows the level at which the pixel owners are.
The next pixel feature drop is expected in September 2022, because Google is sticking to the quarterly rollout except for the stop in autumn 2021. But it can also be the case that the next Pixel Feature Drop will be included in the Android 13 update and there will therefore be no additional new functions in addition to the major upgrade to the next operating system version. At least no QPR beta has been launched yet.
