Microsoft today pushed the Windows 11 Build 22000.776 (KB5014668) update to Release Preview preview members, made a lot of fixes, and launched search highlights.
Update:
- Added IP address auditing for incoming Windows Remote Management (WinRM) connections in security event 4262 and WinRM event 91. Fixed an issue where the source IP address and computer name of remote PowerShell connections could not be logged.
- Added Server Message Block (SMB) Redirector (RDR) specific public File System Control (FSCTL) code FSCTL_LMR_QUERY_INFO.
- Use PowerShell to make SMB client and SMB server cipher suite order configurable.
- Search highlights will showcase especially important and interesting moments of the day, such as holidays, anniversaries, and other educational moments around the world and in the user’s region. To see search highlights, click the search icon on the taskbar. Search Highlights will roll out to Windows 11 customers over the next few weeks.

- Fixed an issue that affected the cloud clipboard service and prevented syncing between machines after a period of inactivity.
- Fixed an issue where the Windows Sandbox splash screen could not be hidden after the sandbox started running.

- Fixed an issue affecting some certificate chains for root certification authorities that are members of the Microsoft Root Certification Program. For these certificates, the certificate chain status will show “This certificate has been revoked by its certificate authority”.
- Fixed an issue that prevented Encrypted File System (EFS) files from being used over a Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) connection.
- Fixed an issue that caused Domain Controllers to incorrectly write Key Distribution Center (KDC) Event 21 in the System Event Log. This happens when the KDC successfully processes Kerberos public key encryption for Initial Authentication (PKINIT) authentication requests using self-signed certificates for key trust schemes (Windows Hello for Business and Device Authentication).
- Fixed an issue preventing Bluetooth from reconnecting to some audio devices after restarting the device.
- Fixed an issue with Active Directory Lightweight Directory Service (LDS) resetting passwords for user agent objects. Password reset fails with an error such as “00000005: SvcErr: DSID-03380C23, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), data 0”.
- Fixed an issue that caused Microsoft NTLM authentication using external trusts to fail. This issue occurs when a domain controller that contains Windows Update on January 11, 2022, or later is servicing authentication requests, is not in the root domain, and does not have a global catalog role. Affected operations may log the following errors:
The security database has not been started.
Domain is in an error state to perform a safe operation.
0xc00000dd (STATUS_INVALID_DOMAIN_STATE)。
- Fixed an issue that caused the LocalUsersAndGroups Configuration Service Provider (CSP) policy to fail when a user modified the built-in administrator group. This issue occurs if the local administrator account is not specified in the member list when the replace operation is performed.
- Fixed an issue where malformed XML input could cause DeviceEnroller.exe to fail. This prevents the CSP from being delivered to the device until the user reboots the device or corrects the XML.
- Fixed an issue that could cause Windows 11 (original version) to stop working when the user installed the app and there was no network connection.
- The Start Menu has been updated to display Windows PowerShell when right-clicking (Win + X) the Start button after uninstalling Windows Terminal.
- Change the name of the Your Phone app to Phone Link on the Settings page.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Microsoft Surface Dial custom settings page to stop working.
