Sony Xperia 1 IV reveals its inner workings

The Sony Xperia 1 IV differs from its predecessor, among other things, in that the periscope module offers a continuous zoom in the range of 85-125 mm (3.5x to 5.2x magnification).

The video below from WekiHome shows a teardown of the Sony Xperia 1 IV. The back is glued but the rest is held together with screws, even the headphone jack, which should make replacement relatively easy in the event of a repair. Replacing the screen, however, requires almost complete disassembly.

As you can see in the teardown, the back of the display is covered with copper tape to conduct heat away from the chipset. But this will probably not be enough, because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 also struggles with overheating problems.

The Sony Xperia 1 IV started shipping in Europe last week. If you want to spend the 1,400 euros, you can secure a device.
