Microsoft today pushed the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.160 (KB5014770) update to Beta preview members. This update brings File Explorer Tabs, as well as navigation updates, to Beta Insiders. Both of these features have recently been turned on in the Dev Preview.
Windows 11’s File Explorer Tab page allows users to better manage files, and also introduces a new layout of the left navigation pane, where users can easily navigate to important folders. The updated organization has easy access to pinned and common folders (Quick Access) and OneDrive cloud profiles added to Windows.
Known Windows folders that are available by default in the Navigation Pane are no longer displayed under This PC, and when users navigate to OneDrive’s folders (eg Documents, Pictures, etc.), the address bar displays the correct path to identify the folder Either on-premises or in the cloud.
Known issue: Up arrows in File Explorer tabs are misaligned, and will be fixed in a future update.
