For Windows users who have signed up for the Office Insider Beta, Microsoft today released Office Insider Preview Build 15402.20002. This update adds some new features to Office Suite and Excel and introduces important fixes for Outlook.
The latest version of Office allows users to add SketchUp files to their Office work. This means that it is now easier to create shareable conceptual designs, such as industrial and product designs, as well as fully textured building models and other graphics used in civil and mechanical engineering.
Excel gets a notable new feature in this update. With the new “Data from Picture” feature, users can now take pictures of information and import it into their worksheet. You can go to the Data tab and select “From Picture”, then select the source; if necessary, you can also view and correct the data before inserting it into the worksheet.
Additionally, users can more easily find key documents in Visio with the new Shared with Me list. To try out this feature, just click on the Home tab or open a tab and select “Shared with Me”.
In related news, Microsoft introduced a redesigned Dictation toolbar for improved efficiency and a cleaner look. The company also released voice dictation in OneNote, a more optimized Microsoft Excel, and more. Recently, Microsoft Office also added the ability to collect 5 million responses on a single form.
To update the Microsoft Office Insider Preview Build to the latest build, open any Office program and go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
