Since last year, Apple has been offering its users the option of using their own domains in connection with e-mails as part of iCloud+. So if someone has registered a domain, it can be used with Apple’s mail system (here are the instructions). Mails to Info@deinetolleDomain.com could end up in an iCloud mailbox. So far, the whole thing could be configured for yourself or family members.
In autumn, with iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, the whole thing is to be expanded even further. iCloud+ then allows the user-defined domain to be shared with users outside of the family group, and it should also be possible to book domains via iCloud+ and set catch-all aliases directly in the iCloud mail settings.
iCloud+ with 50 GB storage currently costs 99 cents per month. Another innovation to come: Hide My Email will later be integrated directly into the QuickType keyboard suggestions, so users can keep their personal email addresses private in third-party applications.
