After WWDC 2022, Apple has pushed the first developer beta version of macOS Ventura. In addition to the various main features introduced at the press conference, macOS Ventura also includes many small features and changes.
Gamepad menu
In the system settings, the gamepad function has been added to manage the gamepads connected to the Mac. Ventura users can map the gamepad’s buttons and joysticks to the Mac keyboard, adjust the force feedback registration, and create presets for multiple gamepads.
Background sound
macOS Ventura comes preloaded with a lot of background sounds. Playing background sounds can eliminate unwanted ambient noise, minimize distractions, and allow users to focus, calm, or rest. The feature first appeared on iOS 15 last year and is coming to macOS Ventura this year.
Share menu Popover
In the first beta version of macOS Ventura, the sharing function is no longer a menu style, but a bubble popup
Spotlight Search Improvements
In macOS Ventura, Apple has integrated Quick Look into Spotlight Search, allowing you to quickly view files in search results without having to open them. Focused Search also displays rich-text web search results and new features such as photo results from your photo library.
Mail supports rich text links
In macOS Monterey, inserting a web link when composing an email will only display the link content. In macOS Ventura, after inserting a network connection, it can be displayed in rich text, with previews and titles of web pages, etc.
Front-end scheduling supports multiple desktops
One of the main features of macOS Ventura is to schedule Stage Manger in front of the stage, which can solve problems such as desktop confusion and management difficulties when multiple applications and windows are opened at the same time.
Front-desk scheduling can place all open applications on the left side of the desktop, and display recently opened applications in the center of the desktop. The pre-stage scheduling supports multiple desktops. If multiple desktops are created, the applications in the pre-stage scheduling can be opened on these desktops at the same time.
QuickTime player supports camera continuous communication
Camera Continuity allows Mac users to use their iPhone as the front-facing camera to perform camera functions in applications such as FaceTime and Zoom. Camera Continuity actually also supports QuickTime Player, allowing users to record movies and control recording settings.
