The Samsung Galaxy S10 series launched in 2019, but was just outside the window for Samsung’s extended update schedule. Now, the last model in the Galaxy S10 series, the 5G model, is also moving to a slower update schedule.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G was released alongside the rest of the Galaxy S10 series in early 2019, but the device has been kept on a monthly update schedule for a little longer than the rest of its siblings. Now Samsung is downgrading the Galaxy S10 5G to a quarterly update schedule, meaning the device will receive four security updates per year.

Samsung last updated the Galaxy S10 5G with the May 2022 security patch. Most likely, the device will not receive another update until the fall.

Samsung announced last year that it would provide security updates for all devices sold from 2019 onwards for four years. However, starting with the 2021 model year, Samsung promises five years of security updates and four years of major Android updates on the same schedule.
