Google Cloud opens new service area in Texas

Google Cloud today announced the launch of its new cloud service region in Dallas, Texas, continuing to expand its global data center footprint. This new region marks the company’s 11th service region in North America. Globally, the company now offers 34 regions, all of which have three regions as a backup for added redundancy.

With this region, Google now provides a local region for Texas’ growing tech ecosystem, and as always, existing Google Cloud users can now offer lower latency access to their users in the region. The company also noted that the Dallas area will also provide existing customers with additional capacity and flexibility to cover customers across the United States.

The new region will provide access to all standard Google Cloud products, including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cold Data Storage, CloudSQL and Cloud Authentication. As of now, Google still has three service areas under construction, located in Tel Aviv, Israel, Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and Doha, Qatar.
