Apple introduced many health tracking feature updates for iOS 16 and watchOS 9 during WWDC 2022, and it is known that in order to make it easier for users to know their medication status, the new version of the software has supported the addition of drugs, vitamins and supplements to the iOS 16 “Health” app, and set custom notification reminders.
The “Health” client on the iPhone supports adding different “drug” categories, and users can search and manually add them later, or scan directly through the native camera (remember to grant camera access to the App).
In most cases, the iPhone can easily identify the label information and give medication instructions. However, for the actual dosage adjustment, please follow the doctor’s advice. As shown, users can specify when and how often each potion should be used—custom schedules, backgrounds with unique visuals, and more.
If you’re an Apple Watch user, you can now sync all your lists to the “Medications” app on your smartwatch. That way, when you need to take it, it is much more convenient to check it through the wrist client – then you can click “taken” or “skip” the record.
If you don’t want to use the Apple Watch to interact, it’s relatively cumbersome to label medicines through the “Health” app on the iPhone. As for the medication that has been taken, it will be listed in the “recorded” section of the app.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to tracking medication records and issuing reminders, the health app can also detect drug interactions to prevent users from encountering dangerous combinations. And you can export your medications as a list in PDF format for easy sharing with your family later.
Lastly, drug tracking is just one of the health features introduced in iOS 16, and other changes include the addition of support for the Activity app. Even if you don’t have an Apple Watch, this feature keeps track of your daily activities.
