According to a report by 9to5 Mac, Apple is expected to release a new generation of iPad Pro in 2022, and now it has summarized four new configurations and functions expected to appear in the 2022 iPad Pro.
MagSafe Support
One of the main features available on the new MacBook Pro and iPhone is MagSafe compatibility. For the 2022 iPad Pro, it seems Apple can finally bring this technology to the tablet.
While it was initially thought that Apple would make the entire glass back for the device, that’s now changing as the iPad Pro will be more fragile and heavier. Apple plans to make a larger logo on the back of the iPad with a glass finish. This will help transfer power through the tablet.
Mini LED and LCD options
When rumors about the 2022 iPad Pro started, it was thought that both tablets would feature Mini LED screens. But analysts Ross Young and Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple will keep LCD technology for the smaller 11-inch iPad Pro due to high production costs.
“For the rest of the year, Apple offers only one product in this category. While it was previously thought that Apple would also introduce Mini LEDs in the 11-inch iPad Pro, we no longer believe that will happen, at least not this year.” According to reports, Apple is targeting its Mini LED to larger, more expensive displays,” Ming-Chi Kuo said in March.
Improve battery life
Sources have confirmed that Apple is working on a new iPad Pro with a larger battery, as some users have complained that the Magic Keyboard is causing excessive battery drain.
While Apple always promises 10 hours of battery life, that means the new iPads can handle more demanding tasks for longer — or at least, longer connected to the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
M2 chip
Apple’s iPad Pro previously used the M1 chip, and the company is likely to add an upgraded version of this processor to the upcoming 2022 iPad Pro. In other words, the new iPad Pro will be equipped with an M2 chip.
Sources have confirmed that this new iPad will be equipped with the new M2 processor. It should be faster than the M1, but not as good as the M1 Pro, M1 Max or M1 Ultra chips.
iPadOS 16
Next week, the WWDC22 Worldwide Developers Conference will be held, when Apple will release iPadOS 16. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple wants to make the iPad behave more like a laptop than a phone, and they’re planning improvements to iPadOS 16 to further that goal.
According to reports, iPadOS 16 will bring a “redesigned” multitasking interface to help users more easily switch between multiple tasks and view previously open applications.
Additionally, the WebKit code indicates that the new iPad OS will allow users to resize windows. Gurman believes that Apple plans to give users new ways to work on multiple apps at the same time, which sounds more like a Mac-like form of multitasking.
