God of War, as regards the native version for PC, will no longer be available on Nvidia GeForce Now starting from July 1, 2022, based on a change in the agreements between the, or Sony PlayStation, and Nvidia, however, users who have bought it and started it before July on the platform will be able to continue to use it in streaming.
This is what IGN reports in these hours, which has contacted Nvidia directly for clarification on the matter, receiving the following communication: starting from July 1st, the Steam and Epic Games Store versions of God of War will not be playable through the cloud service. gaming by Nvidia.
According to an Nvidia spokesperson, “the publisher, who had previously decided to take part in the initiative, has decided to abandon it”.
It seems evident that Sony has no intention of keeping God of War on a competing streaming service, considering that it has launched the new version of PlayStation Plus which also includes cloud gaming, which can be used on PC.
To avoid some kind of internal competition, Sony has evidently decided to remove God of War from the GeForce Now streaming service, however, there are exceptions. Anyone who purchased God of War and started playing it on GeForce Now before July 1, 2022, will be able to continue using it through the same platform.
There are differences between the streaming versions, given that the one available on GeForce Now is in effect the PC version of God of War, with all the additional options it enjoys in terms of resolution and graphic quality, as well as support for mouse and keyboard. The PC version, by the way, recently got patch 1.0.12 which introduces AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0.
