Katsuhiro Harada revealed via Twitter that Tekken 7 has sold a whopping 9 million copies, setting the all-time record for the series since its inception, which in total has sold 53 million copies worldwide.
Tekken 7 has been released on Xbox One, PC and PS4. More recently, the Legendary Edition has been released for Xbox One and PS4 which includes some characters that can be purchased via DLC in the base title. The game was originally launched in 2015 as an arcade version, then in 2017 on home systems.
As you know, this is the last chapter of one of the most famous 3D fighting game series, coming from the PSX era. In fact, the first Tekken was released in 1994 first in the arcade, then in 1995 on the Sony console.
The sales of Tekken 7 have been really excellent and bode well for the realization of an eighth chapter, which could be published during the PS5 / Xbox Series X generation.
