If we are to believe the rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro, which Apple will launch in 2024, will not have a notch, camera hole or another notch. According to reliable Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo, we can expect a full-screen design.
Last month, the Apple analyst brought this out on his Twitter, but we hadn’t reported the news yet. As a result, the front of the 2024 iPhone would consist entirely of a screen and the TrueDepth camera for Face ID would be hidden under the display.
iPhone 16 Pro: full-screen design
Ming-Chi Kuo wrote on his Twitter that the first full-screen iPhone will be released in 2024. All the parts needed for Face ID would then be placed behind the screen, even the selfie camera.
As a result, the iPhone 16 Pro would no longer have a notch and no holes in the screen. This means that the high-end iPhone of 2024 will have an OLED screen that takes up the entire front.
However, Apple will face the necessary challenges in the coming years, a camera behind a screen is a difficult task. Kuo says low-light situations degrade the quality of the camera when it’s covered by a screen. Artificial intelligence, ISP and algorithms are crucial to improving the quality of the selfie camera. Only then will there be no loss of quality compared to the current TrueDetph camera.
Kuo has proven in the past that he can make good predictions about products yet to be announced, so it is likely that he is right and we can expect an iPhone with a full-screen design in the future. The iPhone 16 will likely retain a notch or hole in the screen to cut costs, perhaps the pill-shaped design expected for the iPhone 14 Pro.
