That was a major disappointment. Xiaomi presented the new Smart Band 7 without a previously expected feature. Only one feature could still make me positive. The good old days are gone. With its former Mi Band, Xiaomi can no longer generally pull all potential customers off their feet. There isn’t enough new stuff.
What I personally miss is further noticeable progress. The competition offers a larger display and more batteries to a comparable extent. It lacks the wow factor that Xiaomi used to be able to pack into such gadgets again and again. This time it would probably have been a GPS sensor, which the datasheet, unfortunately, couldn’t offer after all.
NFC variant: Xiaomi should finally revise its Europe strategy for Smart Band 7
Well, there is another way to make me personally positive. Xiaomi should finally offer the Smart Band 7 NFC in Germany. And this makes it possible for me to use any Mastercard to make contactless payments. This can also be done using Curve with older generations (by importing from abroad), but that’s “too much” handicraft work for me.
Xiaomi Smart Band 7: Once again there are not enough real innovations
Ultimately, one has to say that there is hardly any real reason to upgrade to the new Xiaomi Smart Band 7 if you don’t already own a model that is too old. Except, of course, for the extremely low entry-level price, which makes switching very attractive at all times, even for existing customers. Now let’s wait until the latest generation of the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is officially launched in Europe.
Are you missing a feature or is the Smart Band 7 just right?
