Just last year, Google Assistant landed on Fitbit smartwatches. Now the cooperation will be deepened. In concrete terms, this means that Google Assistant can now not only see the data in your Fitbit account but also read it out to you on request. The app connection initially focuses on a few basics.
You can currently query the calories burned, steps taken, and heart rate via Google Assistant. This is possible if you have linked the services together. There are several ways to do this, we’ll tell you the order for the Google Home app.
How to connect Google Assistant to Fitbit
To do this, open Google Home on your phone, press your profile picture in the top right corner and now select the Assistant settings. There you will find the wellness settings at the bottom, where you can connect other services for activities and sleep. For example your Fitbit account.
That should be it if the connection is successfully established.
Innovations are no coincidence: Fitbit is deep in the Google Pixel Watch
Google also seems to be implementing this feature because the upcoming Pixel Watch has many Fitbit functions deeply integrated. Again, that doesn’t make other Fitbit features exclusive to the Google watch.
