Thanks to integrated technology, smart devices often know that they are close to each other. That could fuel the Chromecast feature. As discovered a little early on, Google has planned a new menu for the cast button on Android apps like YouTube Music. It shouldn’t simply list all the devices one below the other but recommend the Chromecast-enabled device that the user might want right at the top of the list.
Chromecast Suggestions: Hope they’re really smart
For this innovation, Google can include several factors to display the correct device. On the one hand, there is the proximity to each other mentioned at the beginning. When I’m in the bathroom, chances are I want to play music on the bathroom speaker. Recommendations can also be tied to routines and times. If I activate the kitchen speaker in the morning, this speaker should be recommended to me in the morning hours.
In the last few weeks, the innovation first appeared with the colleagues from ChromeUnboxed and that’s why there are already screenshots. It could well be that international deployment usually takes a few weeks or months. I sincerely hope that the recommendations are as smart as I just imagined.
