According to information from Sensor Tower, a professional data statistics agency, since its launch on the App Store and Google Play Store, Tencent’s PUBG Mobile has exceeded US$8 billion in global player spending, becoming the most popular game in Tribes. Conflict, Monster Pinball, and Honor of Kings, another mobile game that reached the milestone of $8 billion in player gold.
PUBG Mobile grossed $4.7 billion in total revenue in China alone, accounting for about 57% of total player spending (excluding third-party Android stores). In addition, excluding China’s revenue, the game can still rank sixth in terms of global player spending. Surprisingly, PUBG Mobile’s revenue declined in the first quarter of 2022, the lowest level since 2020.
Still, PUBG Mobile remains one of the highest-grossing games in the world, second only to Honor of Kings in the first quarter of 2022 and reaching $650 million during that period. The Sensor Tower report also added that the iOS App Store platform is the main source of revenue for PUBG Mobile, accounting for about 81% of player spending.
