A few days ago we reported how some Google apps, specifically YouTube Music and YouTube TV, have opened beta programs on the Play Store, although at the moment there are no new versions available; now a beta version has also arrived for the complementary Wear OS app.
New beta version for the Wear OS app
The complementary Wear OS app is now added to the apps already mentioned, and it seems that it will soon get its beta version; the current stable version of the app is 2.57 and even here, at the moment, there are no noticeable changes.
As with all the other apps, by scrolling down the Play Store page, you have the possibility to subscribe and join the beta program, even if for the moment there don’t seem to be any versions available; It is therefore not clear whether it is a bug of the Big G store or if there is only to wait.
It is also unclear at the moment what the future of the app will be with Wear OS 3, considering for example that the Galaxy Watch 4 and future Samsung wearables will likely continue to use the Galaxy Wearable app.
What’s new for YouTube Music on Wear OS
After being unveiled and premiered for the Galaxy Watch 4, the YouTube Music app for Wear OS is about to receive a handy and interesting new feature; According to what is reported on the Wear OS support forum, it will soon be possible to stream songs via LTE or Wi-Fi, without the need to download the music you want to listen to in advance and without necessarily having to have a smartphone nearby.
The second novelty concerns the possibility of adding a new YouTube Music tile to your watch, this will allow you to have quick access to the recently played playlists, as well as to the navigation page of the YouTube Music app.
