Many years have passed since WhatsApp was a paid application, complete with an annual subscription to access the service. Since Facebook – now Meta – acquired the application in 2014, the theme of subscriptions has never returned ( given that the business model has changed, we add ), at least not as regards ordinary users.
According to the latest WABetaInfo sightings, in fact, it seems that the company is working on a new subscription dedicated to its business customers, called WhatsApp Premium. At the moment there are no precise details about any costs and the markets in which it will be available, however, we already have a first overview of its main features; let’s go and discover them.
THE FUNCTIONS OF WHATSAPP PREMIUM
As anticipated, WhatsApp Premium is a service designed exclusively for businesses, which is why the benefits offered by the subscription-only concern this niche of customers. The first will allow subscribers to start a greater number of sessions at the same time as the company profile, arriving at being able to activate it on 10 devices in total – against the current 4 -, with the possibility of setting a name for each of them, in order to improve the business management of the same.
The second option that emerged from the analysis of WABetaInfo concerns the possibility of requesting a personalized link for the company profile, in order to make the link itself more recognizable. The format available will be wa.me/company name, however, you will still need to use a phone number in order to log into your account. The new link is therefore designed only from the point of view of the management of one’s own corporate brand and nothing more.
It is not clear if these are the only two new features of WhatsApp Premium, however, it is likely that more details may emerge over the next few months since the subscription is not yet official. WhatsApp is probably still working on key aspects such as defining the final price and the package it intends to offer to its business customers.
