Two nights ago, during the Google I/O, many users were disappointed not to have seen the official presentation of the long-awaited first Big G smartwatch, the Pixel Watch. The community had to settle for a video teaser, thanks to which, however, we now have some more information than the rumors leaked up to that moment.
The future Google smartwatch will feature a circular domed design, with a tactile crown, and will be made entirely of recycled stainless steel; as an extension of the smartphone, it will allow users to carry out a whole series of operations, without necessarily having to take the phone out of their pocket. Furthermore, unlike others, it will be able to benefit from all the Fitbit know-how as regards the functions related to health and fitness.
As you can see from the widespread video teaser, in the last part when the superimposed writings appear, it is possible to notice the indication “Requires an Android 8.0 or newer phone”.

This shows us how Google has excluded the versions of Android 6, 7 and 7.1 from compatibility with the device, to use Pixel Watch it will therefore be necessary to have a smartphone that has at least Android 8, unlike what happens for example with the Samsung Galaxy Watch . 4 (or with Wear OS 2 watches) which requires Android 6.0 or higher.
An indication that is missing at the moment is the possible compatibility with iOS, which Big G does not mention for the moment, it could be a clue: in fact, considering that Galaxy Watch 4 is the first Wear OS device not to be compatible with the apple system, the same fate could touch Pixel Watch and maybe all the next smartwatches equipped with Wear OS 3.
