The matter will be an important term for smart home users in the future. Google has announced some new features, including integration with Android. In the future, the smart home should become more standardized across manufacturers in terms of the protocols and technologies used. The matter is a big step for this, which Google also supports for its own products. There were several announcements to be made at Google I/O 2022.
Google had this Matter news for us:
- The Software Developer Kit (SDK) for Google Home and Google Home Mobile for Matter will be available in June as a developer preview.
- Matter support is coming to the Nest Thermostat.
- Many Nest devices become Matter controllers, meaning they can serve as central hubs to control Matter-enabled devices both locally and remotely via the Google Home app.
- There’s now built-in support for Matter on Android, so you can use Fast Pair Matter-enabled smart home devices to quickly connect to your network, Google Home, and other related apps with just a few taps.
This fall, you can connect hundreds of Matter-enabled devices, like lightbulbs, door locks, smart plugs and more to you home network, Google Home and your favorite apps using Fast Pair #GoogleIO pic.twitter.com/8A0lHa01lL
