By analyzing the code contained in version 5.22.182.00 of Google Keep for Android, the 9To5Goole team found evidence that Google is working on the ability to format the text of notes in bold, italic and underlined in a similar way to Docs, Sheets and Slides.
The feature is not yet widely available and is likely implemented through a server-side update. Version 5.22.182.00 is not yet widely distributed via the Google Play Store, but will likely become so soon.
Automatically translated transcripts and subtitles are coming to the YouTube app
At Google I / O 2022, the company confirmed that it is adding transcripts and automatic translations for videos played on the YouTube app for Android. Transcripts will be generated automatically using Google’s speech recognition templates, just like automatic subtitles, only in the near future, it will be possible to read them in a list similar to automatic transcriptions in the Google Recorder app, however for videos the accuracy of the transcripts will depend a lot. from the content being played.
As in the web version of YouTube, automatic subtitle translation will be accessible in the settings by tapping the “Automatic translation” option and selecting your preferred language. Automatically translated subtitles will initially be available in 16 languages, with Ukrainian being added next month, so users can browse more accurate content about the ongoing Russian invasion.
