In my opinion, this was long overdue, also because manufacturers like Tesla, for example, make it possible in their own software. We’re talking about video apps like Netflix and YouTube, which previously couldn’t be used via Android Automotive. That’s finally changing!
Video apps in Android Automotive are now officially possible
Even ahead of a major announcement, Google updated its changelog for the May updates of Google System Updates. It contains a new and crucial point on this topic: “Support for installing and using video streaming apps in-car infotainment systems via Android Automotive”. That means, with the latest Google Play services, support for video apps arrives on Android Automotive!
