Google is already optimizing the recently introduced battery widget for Pixel phones with the upcoming Pixel Feature Drop. With the last Pixel Feature Drop, Google introduced a new widget that is supposed to provide information about your batteries. On the one hand via the phone’s battery, but also via the battery charges of connected devices. These are primarily naturally connected Bluetooth gadgets such as wireless headphones or your own smartwatch.
Google is redesigning the battery widget branding to make it easier to find as well
It was a little confusing how to find the widget at all. It can currently be found in the widget list but in the new “Settings updates”. That might not be the best name, as Google found. In the latest Android 12 QPR3 beta you can see that Google has therefore worked on the new branding.
There is supposed to be a new category called “Battery” (here probably “Akku” and also a new logo. If there is a separate category, one could assume that Google might even be planning more widgets. The final Android update with these new features is planned for next June. Then there’s the last big Pixel Feature Drop for Android 12.
