The upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series will offer a “Pro” model. It’s just that it’s still some time away from launch, so it’s not 100% sure. Based on the information currently available, the internal development code of the Galaxy Watch 5 series is “Heart”, which will be equipped with a larger battery than the previous generation.
It is estimated that there will be three models in this series for users to choose from:
Heart-S:
- This is a smaller version (40 or 42mm) of the new watch, model number SM-R90x
Heart-L:
- Larger version (44 or 46 mm), model number SM-R91x
Heart-Pro:
- The codename confirms previous rumors that a “Pro” variant is in the works. The Heart-Pro has the model number SM-R92x. Judging by the size, it appears that only one version of the pro version exists.
By the way, the fact that it’s codenamed Heart-Pro doesn’t mean the corresponding device will actually be the Watch 5 Pro. After all, the other models won’t be called the Watch 5 S and Watch 5 L either, and the information here mostly confirms that Samsung will have a “Pro” model.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy Watch 5 this summer, along with the Galaxy Buds Pro 2, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Specifically, that means: during the Unpacked event in early August, and a release date at the end of August. At least, that’s been how Samsung’s release schedule has been for a few years now.
