Via Reddit, user MissFeepit revealed that her boyfriend owns a copy of Star Wars: Battlefront III for PSP. This is a working playtest version. To confirm their story, the user has shared some images, which you can see below.
The user explains: “Lucasarts was a client of a family member of my fiancé at the time and he had the opportunity to test many games, one of which was Star Wars Battlefront III. Once it was canceled, all assets were collected to be sent back to Skywalker Ranch, but one of the PSP copies was forgotten.
Being young, I don’t think too much about it and took it home, tried it and saw that the AI battles, CFTs and Conquest worked well. Years later, looking through his old games, he found it and as far as we know there are no others online. He has the only copy of a canceled Star Wars game. Honestly, we’re curious to know what it’s worth: it should work without problems, there are no scratches or damage on the game itself “.
In a later edit , the user later wrote, “Oh my god, I have to say, I had no idea this was going to be that popular. I’ve never played many Star Wars games and right now I only appreciate Star Wars because it’s a which my fiancé is passionate about, so I had no idea Star Wars Battlefront III was this big thing, I thought he was excited because he’s a nerd. ” The post has in fact obtained over 17,800 likes and over 1,000 comments.
