There are just a few days left until the presentation of the new generation Sony Xperia 1 flagship, the fourth: the appointment is for 11 May, and to keep the interest of fans high, the Japanese company has published a short official teaser on the Chinese social network Weibo. The details that are leaked are not many, but it is clear that the primary target of the teaser (and consequently of the smartphone) are the content creators.
Not only does the accompanying post say so, but in the video, you can observe Pierre T. Lambert, a photographer and YouTuber who has collaborated over the years with a variety of brands (Google Pixel included) and who talks, without revealing too much, about the capabilities of the sector smartphone photo. We can expect a physically very large camera, according to Lambert’s words.
The rumors leaked so far corroborate (in more detail, fortunately) what the photographer said: we are talking about a 48 MP sensor in 1 / 1.28 “format and with individual pixel dimensions equal to 1.22 micrometers (naturally with optical stabilization).
At least two secondary cameras: one ultra-wide-angle, with a 48 MP sensor but smaller (0.7-micrometer pixels) and a telephoto with the same sensor as the ultra-wide-angle. The rest of the specifications (always presumed, clearly) can be summarized as follows:
- Display: 6,5, 120 Hz
- Chip: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
- Memory: RAM: 12/16 GB, Storage: 256/512 GB
- Battery: 5,000 mAh
- Charging: 45 watts with Power Delivery and wireless charging
- Operating system: Android 12
The smartphone could be significantly more expensive than the previous generation, precisely due to the qualitative increase of the cameras: we are talking about + 20% in the worst cases. If nothing else, the 3.5mm audio jack should remain available.
