Apple recently released a new update to the Safari Technology Preview, which is Apple’s experimental browser since its launch in March 2016. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced in future releases of Safari.
Safari Technology Preview 144 includes bug fixes and performance improvements for Web Inspector, CSS, Web Animations, JavaScript, WebAuthn, Web API, Accessibility, Media, Security Policy, and Web Extensions.
The current Safari Technology Preview builds on the Safari 15.4 update, which includes Safari 15 features introduced in macOS Monterey.
Updates to Safari Technical Preview are available to anyone who has downloaded the browser through the software update mechanism in System Preferences. The full release notes for the update can be found on the Safari Technology Preview site.
Apple’s purpose in launching the Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. The Safari Technology Preview can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser, and while it’s designed for developers, it doesn’t require a developer account to use.
