Sony’s PlayStation division is looking for an acquisition manager, as emerged from a job posting. More specifically, it is looking for a Director of Corporate Development who will work in the company’s Californian offices and will be in charge of finding potential targets for future acquisitions and investments.
The first to have identified the announcement was the business analyst Roberto Serranò, who had a good eye. The candidate will have to keep an eye on the market and develop internal and external relationships to identify companies to acquire or invest in. He must also have experience in mergers and acquisitions, which he must know how to manage in all their phases. For this, at least twelve years of field experience is required.
The announcement looks similar to that published by Xbox last week and frankly it is no surprise that multi-billion-dollar multinationals have teams dedicated to evaluating and finalizing the opportunities that are created in terms of acquisitions or investments, especially given the latest movements in the market that have seen them involved.
Just today Embracer Group announced that it has bought Eidos from Square Enix, with all its development studios and related intellectual properties.
