What many people don’t know is that from Windows 10 to now Windows 11, the default picture app of the Windows system has a major flaw – color management. Starting from Windows 10, the system’s default picture app is built using UWP, color management is very bad, on the wide gamut screen, look at a picture of SRGB color gamut, saturation explosion in minutes, the color is too bright to be hot. After so many years of UWP release, the problem of color management is still unresolved, which is really undeserved.
Since Windows 10, UWP apps, including the Photo App, have not been able to manage colors correctly, and the picture shows Chrome compared to the old Edge.
In Windows 7, there is no such problem. The Photo Viewer for Windows 7 systems is built using Win32 and has good support for color management. So the question is, in Windows 11 this Windows 7 version of the photo viewer is not found by default, how to get it back? Try the following method!

next, click “file” – “save as” to save it as a registry file with the suffix “.reg”.
Once imported, the Windows 7 version of Photo Viewer is actually back. Right-click on the image file, select Open, and you’ll find the classic “Photo Viewer”!
Finally, to be fair, Windows 11 comes with a better-looking app interface, smoother animations, and better support for touch. But in the basic skills of color management, but lost to the Windows 7 photo viewer, as a picture viewing tool, even the color can not be displayed normally, where is the face?
