Google has announced new devices in the Pixel lineup for next May and that could include the Google Pixel 6a. In the last few days, however, the rumor mill has cooled down again. The Google Pixel Watch, which was also expected, was much more in the focus of the entire industry. But I still think it’s possible that Google would like to give us at least a first look at the new phone. So what do we know so far?
Google is planning a mix of Pixel 5 and Pixel 6
A lot had already come to light about the technical equipment. For example, the exact hardware that Google wants to integrate for the cameras. Nothing new is to be expected, this is ultimately the camera setup from previous smartphones before the Pixel 6 series. That might be due to the price. Google still wants to give us the Google Tensor , the high-end chip from the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro that specializes in machine learning .
The design comes from the latest models, but maybe with a little less glass on the back:
For me, the processor makes the difference. Google relies on perfect harmony of software and hardware, while some other manufacturers want to flex with big numbers alone. That might not bring Google the hype. But with the Pixel 6a, we can buy what is probably the most balanced package below the 500 euro mark. Probably not until the summer, because the Pixel 6a may have had to be postponed like its predecessors due to a lack of chips.
