Google has long made its own new devices a secret. A small statement could now refer to the Pixel Notepad. For some time now, there have been more and more indications of a first foldable from Google.
Even graphics are said to have already shown it, which come directly from the app source codes of Google. However, a tangible confirmation is still pending.
Sundar Pichai, the Google CEO, confirms that they are interested in such devices in his latest statement during the earning calls for the first quarter of 2022.
On the one hand, he celebrated the success of the Pixel 6 phones and also announced new hardware for the Google I/O on May 11. At the same time, he gave an outlook on the future.
Investments in foldable and Co: Google speaks of new form factors
Google wants to “invest in more form factors.” Which in my eyes is an indirect confirmation that the previous “normal” phones of the Pixel series are not the end of the flagpole. When it comes to other form factors, manufacturers often talk about foldable lately. However, “Over the coming years” doesn’t sound like the Pixel Notepad will be released very soon.
In the rumor mill, the Pixel Notepad has been on the road for a while. Google has allegedly even had to postpone it several times and is planning the first market launch only very limited. For a few weeks, it has become quiet again. With Pichai’s hint, the Google I/O could be even more exciting. Maybe Google is teasing there even more for the future than what we already expect?
This is known about the Pixel Notepad so far:
- Foldable with a large display on the inside
- Price should be below the competition
- Most likely with Google Tensor
- The camera probably a rather older model
