Google is currently rebuilding Android so that the operating system supports the new passkeys for the future. This is a new and secure way for users to dial into Internet services.
Roughly speaking: In the future, your phone and the Internet service will exchange secure keys with each other instead of transferring the classic password via autofill into a form field.
Passkeys are generally classified as more secure. They are then stored in your Google Account, which in turn is secured on your smartphone by multi-factor authentication.
Currently, according to 9to5Google, Google is actively working on integrating the passkeys for the Android operating system. Ultimately, this function can only be used if Internet services offer their support. Apple is also pushing this issue.
