By default, for privacy reasons, Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome in stealth mode will disable extensions. This feature does not work for a specific website, and Microsoft intends to complete it.
Starting with the upcoming version of the Edge browser, users will be able to restrict access to extensions for certain websites, i.e. prevent extensions from reading data on selected websites, according to Windows Latest.
As you can see from the image above, this experimental feature gives users the option to pause the use of the extension for a specific website. after a pause, there will be a blue reminder in the extension list. of course, users can also choose to resume running the extension in the same menu.
Microsoft is doing A/B testing in the Edge Canary, which means that some users can experience it. When a user pauses an extension, the site reloads. When an extension is suspended, a banner will appear on the website stating “We have suspended the extension on this site to minimize your data sharing.”
Microsoft has made significant improvements to the browser’s sleep tab in Edge 100, allowing users to save up to 8% of additional resources.
