A few days ago, Tesla once again opened its Roadster booking page, which means that consumers have channels to fight for their own places. Interested consumers are reported to have to pay Tesla $5,000 by credit card, and then the remaining $45,000 by wire transfer within 10 days. Tesla said the deposit was fully refundable, but it wasn’t clear whether it was just $5,000 or the full amount.
CNBC’s Lora Kolodny pointed to the reopening of booking plans on Sunday. But I’m sure you’ll be curious about who would really want Tesla to keep their $50,000 in the middle of nowhere for an uncertain amount of time, especially considering that people have seen a lot of delays and long silences of communication in the past four and a half years since the model debuted.

Normally, the media would ask the car company for details about the program, the number of bookings it currently holds and how long it expects people who are now on the list to wait to get a car, but since tesla no longer has a pr department, it’s clear that people can’t get any news.
