The second Tuesday of the month is Patch day at Microsoft. New updates are then distributed – security gaps are closed, functions are made error-free and new possibilities are tested. Microsoft distributes updates for all supported versions of Windows.
Specifically, updates for the Windows 10 versions 21H2, 21H1 and 20H2 are distributed to the builds 19044.1645, 19043.1645 and 19042.1645 respectively. The update package is identical for all three versions and is named KB5012599.
Comes either automatically or manually on demand. If you are using Windows 11 version 21H2, you will receive the KB5012592 update, which raises the build number to 22000.613. This security update contains improvements that were part of update KB5011563, the update can be downloaded manually here.
