During the Cyber Rodeo Event last week, Elon Musk touched on various topics concerning the world of Tesla, giving considerable importance to the opening of the Giga Factory in Austin, which among other things will begin production with the Model Y equipped with the new structural batteries, but the attention was all directed to the Cybertruck.
Needless to hide, Tesla’s futuristic pickup attracts attention at all times and in every way, despite the fact that it is still a work-in-progress that has once again been postponed, with the new launch date estimated for the first months of 2023. On the occasion of such an event Tesla could not avoid bringing his Cybertruck on stage, and so it was.
Visitors had the opportunity to discover the latest innovations brought to the Palo Alto giant, such as the retractable rear glass, the doors from which the handles have disappeared, the new side chambers installed inside the wheel arches and a new charging socket on the fender. But behind the scenes, someone managed to film the pick-up during some maneuvers, which made it possible to see the rear steering wheels in action.
This particular feature had already been announced in the past, but it had not yet been seen in action, although in this circumstance it is difficult to deepen its potential. We do not know, for example, if the Cybertruck will be able to move like a crab-like the Hummer EV does, or if it will be able to turn on itself like the Tank Turn system adopted by Rivian, but in the meantime, it is undeniable that the presence of moving wheels at the rear will help during the maneuvers from a standstill of a vehicle with dimensions that are anything but contained.
