Elon Musk suggested changes to the paid Twitter Blue service in a series of tweets Saturday night — including cheaper subscription prices, removing ads and offering cryptocurrency payment options. Musk, now Twitter’s largest shareholder, continues to make very specific policy and product proposals publicly, even though he now serves on the social media network’s board of directors and can presumably make and drive those proposals internally.
The Tesla CEO said on Twitter that all Twitter Blue users “deserve a verification badge,” but that’s not the same style as verification badges for official accounts and public and media personalities.
Musk said: “The price should probably be $2/month, but pay for 12 months upfront, the account won’t get the flag for 60 days (beware of credit card chargebacks), and if it’s used for scam/spam, simply suspend Membership rights and logos are used without refund.”

“And there are no ads,” he added. “If Twitter survives on advertising dollars, then the power of corporations to dictate policy is greatly enhanced.”
Meanwhile, the world’s richest man agreed with a Twitter user’s suggestion to offer cheaper subscription prices in poor countries, saying fees “should be commensurate with affordability and in local currency”.
“Maybe there’s even an option to pay with Doge?” Musk said, referring to the cryptocurrency Dogecoin.
He also launched a poll on Twitter on whether the company’s San Francisco headquarters should be converted into a homeless shelter after saying “no one will come (to work there).” As of late Saturday By then, the poll had already garnered more than 500,000 votes.
Twitter was supposed to invite Musk to an employee “question and answer session” after Musk was named to the microblogging site’s board after he bought a 9.2% stake in the company last week, The Washington Post reported. .
