Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Tuesday in a discussion about whether Twitter should add editing features that Facebook gave him the creeps. Earlier, Musk launched a Twitter poll asking people if they wanted Twitter to add an editing feature, “Do we need an edit button?” As of now, 76% of respondents agreed.
But Liz Wheeler, a well-known American podcaster, questioned this, writing: “What if a tweet goes viral, gets retweeted many times, makes millions of impressions, and then the author completely changes his meaning Do? Not just a grammatical fix, but an ideological radical change? Or shameless self-promotion?”
In response, Facebook CTO Andrew Bosworth offered to offer a solution, saying that Facebook had fixed the issue, adding an indicator that the post was redacted at the same time as the changelog.
Musk responded by saying, “Facebook gives me the creeps.”
Musk has long expressed dissatisfaction with Facebook, publicly calling for people to uninstall Facebook, and has been at odds with the company’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, over the pros and cons of artificial intelligence.
