In the mythological adventure of Kratos , the Greek God of War used all kinds of weapons to defeat the Gods and thus carry out the coveted revenge against Olympus, but also to keep the promise made to his wife Faye in the latest God of War. True symbol of the Ghost of Sparta, however, remain the Blades of Chaos.
What are these weapons really? The Blades of Chaos were forged in the Underworld by Ares, the original God of War, imbued with the fire of Hell. Ares entrusts them to his favorite champion after the latter vows to serve him, using them to defeat the horde of barbarians in the first God of War.
The same blades, however, will later also become the tools used by Kratos to unknowingly kill his own family (that ‘s why Kratos wants to kill Zeus in God of War ); in this regard, in fact, it should be remembered that the chains around the warrior’s arms cannot be brokenas long as they serve their original creator, Ares. The divinity, as we know, will later be eliminated by the Spartan warrior, and the blades set aside.
Only years later, during the Norse life after the events of God of War III, will Kratos rediscover these weapons that he had kept hidden for so long. The double swords belong to a past that the God of War keeps secret from his son Atreus, but which is impossible for him to abandon also due to the continuous and magical reappearance of the mythological instruments of death, as told in the comic series God of War Fallen God .
