The upgrade to Android 12 also saw a decent reboot for the built-in widget system. It is now not only functionally much more extensive. Google has already improved or completely re-introduced a large number of its own widgets. But does that even matter in the community, or was all the work for nothing?
In a survey by English colleagues from 9to5Google, they asked exactly this question. Are you using more widgets now because there are new and better widgets? In fact, as of March 28, around 30 percent of people say they actually use more widgets now because of better widget choices.
However, almost as many people say they haven’t changed their behavior but like Google’s efforts. Another 25 percent say they now use more widgets because of the increased functionality. Around 55 percent of those surveyed are hooked and use widgets more intensively than before. However, the colleagues are of course a very affine group of users.
