Oops, where’s that battery widget that Pixel 6 users were so excited about? There seems to be a bug that can be fixed quickly. Google recently introduced a new battery widget. It provides information about the battery of the smartphone, but also about the battery of connected Bluetooth devices – see title picture.
Curiously, the widget is gone with the update that the widget was supposed to bring with it. For me, a friend and some other users, the widget cannot be found after the Pixel Feature Drop (March 2022). However, there is a solution to this problem.
Battery widget for Pixel 6 phones: Solution requires user initiative
While the widget is present on my Pixel 6 Pro with the latest Android 12 QPR3 Beta, I can’t find it on the Pixel 6 with the final Android 12.1 Pixel Feature Drop. However, you can quickly fix this yourself with the following solution:
- Open the Google Play Store on the Pixel.
- Tap profile picture.
- Open Manage apps and devices.
- Open the Manage tab.
- Find and open Settings Services.
- Select Uninstall, confirm dialog.
- Select Update.
So you have now reset the settings services and brought them up to date again. After that, the new battery widget was immediate to be found in the widgets under Setting updates.
