Microsoft recently launched a new extension for the Chrome browser, Microsoft Bing InPrivate, which runs private, anonymous Bing searches without trying to transfer data to a Microsoft account or device.
As you would expect, once installed, the extension will ensure 3 things. First, whenever you open the extension, your default search engine will be set to Bing. You also get an anonymous search, Microsoft account login is disabled, and your search history is omitted on Bing.com. Finally, you can access other privacy preferences in the Chrome browser like passwords, history, cookies, etc. with one click.
Interestingly, since the Chrome extension works well on Edge, you can also use this extension in Microsoft’s Edge browser. However, Edge blocks installation by default and requires you to enable it manually, as it tries to swap out the search engine by default. Otherwise, the extension behaves just like it does on Chrome.
